We stopped at the Visitor Center on our way out of Breaks - they record all the TransAmerica bicyclists that pass through. So Greg wrote up his thoughts about the 76 trail and about Virginia in general. They give all the the bicyclists a commemorative pin. (sorry it's so blurry!)
We were looking at the brochures and they say this place is called the "Grand Canyon of the East". So we asked a couple of park rangers about it and they said we should go check out the Towers Overlook....
We are SO glad we asked!!
With a fond farewell to Virginia, we headed off to Kentucky...
Here we go again...I have to say...I don't mind the crooked roads with the jeep so much...but with the RV, it kinda freaks me out!
Cool bridge...
There was a lot of construction and at one point there was no way for me to turn onto this highway going west, so I had to go 10 miles east and turn around to get back on the highway. Saw this...I don't know exactly what was going on here, if it was naturally like this or they are chipping away at it. Looked like a Mayan temple!
Parked the RV at Walmart in Pikeville...
...and took the jeep to catch up with Greg.
Later on we went food shopping...I've never seen these at home!
And the biggest tubs of ice cream ever!
Rainy night. Have to get an early start tomorrow. We have to be in Hazard by early Monday morning to have the RV serviced (oil change, etc.). I'm hoping we can find a church further down the road, that has a Sunday night service...
