What better way to start Greg's Bday than a trip to WAFO (as Nicole and I call it!)
Had the nicest waitress, who made us feel at home! They do the neatest thing at Waffle Houses - as soon as you walk in, they all shout hello, and after you tell them what you'd like, the waitress shouts out the order to the cook (who's no more than 3 feet away!). Hysterical.
We decided to head to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home, and stopped at this place along the way...
A historic landmark that accommodated travelers with food, drink and lodging more than 200 years ago.Nice shops! Lots of antiques nestled here and there...
A good year!
Greg talking to his clients,
as I take a peek in the other shops.
Kickin' back...
The museum chronicling the American Revolution was amazing. Beautifully done.
Yummy lunch!
A must for us. When the kids were young, they got such a kick covering Greg's eyes as I'd drive the 4 of us to a 7-11 for slurpees on his birthday.
Today they had a special - we got these for free!!
On to the movies - saw Lone Ranger...sign in theater!
Went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner - had mostly hors d'oeuvres. Then headed "home" for dessert and presents! I was going to attempt to make a cake in the micro/convection oven but it was risky (since the last two attempts to cook fish...lol...uh, well...they were kinda "stiff")
And the piece de resistance...
...the burning of the AARP membership offer (I think we know what he thinks about that!!)
