November 28, 2013 - Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, this was probably the weirdest Thanksgiving we've ever had!

But we are thankful, for all the blessings in our life...and the trials too, after all, they are what shape us and make us stronger...

We started at the pier where only 5 days before, Greg had joyfully boarded the ferry to head to Coronado...

...in all honesty, we were a bit down about it all, but knew we just had to put it behind us.

It was a sunny day...another reason to be thankful!

And Greg began again...

I didn't realize it the other night, but the ferry was right next to the Midway aircraft carrier! Decided to wander around for a while...

Then I saw this off in the distance...

...from that famous photograph!

Very cool.

They played the live recordings of him entertaining the troops.

Made my way up the coast to meet Greg.

Since the days were getting darker sooner, and we had started midday, Greg decided to stop at Torrey Pines.

Last time we were in CA, Greg went paragliding here...it had been a blast!  He had hoped to be able to take another flight...but you know how it goes...best laid plans and all...

Had picked up yummy turkey fixings from Wholefoods (thank you for the idea Nicole!). We sat near the cliffs, overlooking the ocean, watching the sun begin to set.

Then we drove around, keeping close to the shore...

It's amazing that the sea lions maneuver safely in these waves that were crashing into the rocks!
