On the Road to Iowa

Lots of driving since we started on Wednesday.  Whew! The best part was deciding to stay at a Travel Center of America last night. And this morning, the lady working there was so nice, she gave us a great deal on the showers! It was very clean, and they provided towels! Best hot shower ever! That was the way to start the day!

Finally!!…..

Signed in with our charter “Pork Belly”, parked the car and gave them our bike to be packed in a truck. 

Lansing is a quiet little town on the river. Had some time before the buses arrived so we went to Coffee on the River for a bite to eat.  We had a delicious lunch (chicken, grapes, celery, greens and craisins with ranch dressing on sourdough bread) and sat outside with an awesome view. Also met a great couple Sherry & Greg (or Gibbs as he’s called) from Canada. We had such a fun time talking and laughing with them!

Currently on the 6 (thought it was 5 😳) hour bus ride to Sergeant Bluff on the west end of Iowa.  There’s a bathroom, it’s air conditioned and this kind lady switched seats so Greg and I could sit together - very grateful! Looking forward to signing in and getting all the info for the ride!!
