Bethpage Bikeway in May '15

A wonderful day, full of sunshine and beauty.  The path is popular, filled with bicyclists, roller skaters, runners and walkers.  It's been extended since we first rode it, but that day we went from Bethpage State Park to Massapequa and back.

Northfork Loop in April 2015

It was early in the season, but warm enough to ride!  We started & ended in Mattituck.

Loved this sign.  It's a small but very lovely town. When we arrived back at night, the place was hopping!  Lol.

Meandering through Cutchogue and Southold near the water's edge...

Stopped in Greenport and had pizza at Emilio's for dinner and sat outside.  A little brisk but the food was delicious!

This was somewhere in town...

On the way back to Mattituck, we passed by these open farm fields.  It smelled so wonderful.  We stopped and shut off the bike lights to get a glimpse of the stars in the sky.  Perfect way to end the ride!

A Beach, Lighthouse, Lavender & Sunrise in 2014

Found a few pics from other bike rides that year - we made many a trip out to Orient Beach State Park.  We would park in Greenport and ride through town (great shops), through the quintessential town of Orient and then onto the state park, where we would relax for a while gazing out at the water before heading back.

In Southold there's a lighthouse we hadn't known about - Horton Point, built in 1857. It was commissioned by President George Washington in 1800 but work on it didn't start for many years later.

In another nearby town, Marion, a farm - Lavender by the Bay.  When the lavender is in bloom you can smell the fragrant aroma as you drive or ride by.  We stop by there whenever we go out east.  They have a wonderful shop to buy bunches of lavender, sachets, books, etc.  You can even go out in the field and pick your own.

Bergen Point is a favorite of ours for a quick stop to see the water.  At sunrise the lighting is amazing.

One of our First Tandem rides - Napeague

This is back from 2014 so the details are a bit sketchy!
But it had blue skies and water!...you can't beat that!
